A tragic incident unfolded on the west coast of the Canary Island of Tenerife, where a powerful wave claimed the lives of four individuals, dragging them into the sea near Los Gigantes. One more person is currently missing. Initially, authorities confirmed three fatalities, but details have since emerged, shedding light on this heartbreaking event.

Details of the Incident

The accident occurred shortly after 4 PM at one of the popular natural pools in Los Gigantes, located in the municipality of Santiago del Teide. At that moment, many visitors were enjoying the surroundings, both on the rocks and in the water, when an immense wave surged in unexpectedly, sweeping them into the depths below.

Emergency services from the Canary Islands reported that several individuals were caught in the forceful currents. Reports indicated that among those affected were tourists from abroad as well. A rescue helicopter managed to recover one individual alive but tragically retrieved another who had already succumbed to the elements.
